Why the overall star rating isn't enough
A dealership's map rating mixes service visits, parking complaints and years-old reviews. It tells you little about the person who will sell you your car this weekend.
The better question is: who works there, and what do their recent buyers say about the experience?
Look at the sales team, not just the storefront
A good store is proud of its people and shows them publicly.
- Can you see the names and photos of the sales staff?
- Are reviews tied to specific reps, not just the business?
- Are reviews verified against a real purchase (for example, a VIN and delivery date)?
- Do several reps have consistent, recent feedback, or is it one star employee?
Test them before you visit
Send a rep a message asking for an itemized out-the-door price on a specific VIN. A great team answers in writing, quickly, without pressure to "just come in."
Red flags
Any of these is a reason to compare another team first.
- No identifiable sales staff anywhere online
- Reviews that only mention the finance office or only praise speed
- Prices that are only available in person
- Mandatory add-ons that appear after you agree on a number
Compare teams side by side
On Meet A Sales Rep every rep is approved by their dealership and every review is VIN-verified. Compare San Diego dealership teams on the Top Teams page, then contact the rep whose buyers describe the experience you want.
